“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. ” (Proverb 22:6)

In America, a large percentage of Slavic population consists of children. Unfortunately often the parents, who raise children, are replaced with alternative educators: television, web, school, friends, etc. In recent years, the moral standard of living greatly decreased. Children are drowning in debauchery, drug addiction, crime, etc.

Statistics say that if in the late 20th century, the child by 18- year anniversary did not accept Christ, then he still had a chance of 36 percent to make that decision. Now, if the child by 12-year anniversary has not accepted Christ, then he only has a chance of 4 percent to make that decision.

No child will become a Christian in itself – it depends on us alone. We cannot expect a society to raise him as a man with good morals and Christian views. It is therefore very important that we, as parents and Christians, would fight for the soul of every child. And this is only possible through preaching of the Gospel and our example as a role model. Our enemy – the Devil does not wait for our children to grow up, but uses all its scathing power now to rob and loot their souls. So the impact we have on young children in Sunday school, plays an important role, and perhaps may determine their entire future life.

In our Sunday school we have about fifty children assigned to four different classes with six teachers and three assistants. We also have a class for children from 3 to 5 years of age, where they listen to Bible truth, and teach “golden” verses, and sing. We firmly believe that each child is a unique creation of our Father God, deserving respect and love. We provide an environment that allows children to discover the lessons Jesus taught through prayer, instruction, and play each day. We strive to maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere that will minister not only to the children but to each family as well.
