(1 Samuel 7:12) ” Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.”
On June 7th, 2010, at the initiative of a few families, who moved to the city of Charlotte, NC for permanent residence, and at the moment not belonging to any local church, held its first constituent meeting. At this meeting the proposition and the decision was made to form a church “Good News”. By majority of the vote, Peter Yevchik was elected as the pastor of the church. Brother Yevchik moved from the city of Rochester, NY, where he was a youth pastor.
The first prayer ministry of the church “Good News’ was held on June 8th, 2010. Pastor Carley Touchstone of the city Springfield, MI, said a prayer of blessing for the new church, and gave a word of exhortation to all present.
Commemorative service to mark the opening of the church was held on June 14th, 2010. Many guests were present, including a musical group “Rassvet” who sang for the glory of God, and all present shared a joy of the birth of a new church. Also a special prayer was held by guest ministers to bless Br. Yevchik and his family to serve as a pastor of the “Good News” church.
Up to date, the church holds Sunday worship services, prayer meetings, and brotherly, sisterly, and youth ministries. Also we have Sunday School and School of Russian language for children. Just recently has been opened Audio library and music department. We believe that God has big plans for the church “Good News”, because it is His construction and we are His fellow workers of God’s Kingdom.
Also on November 27, 2010 the Church “Good News” had a historic moment. By decision of the Church members and ministers, church started collecting finances to purchase their own church building.
“Although there are few strong among us, but the church is being constructed”.
Petr Yevchik was born on November 22, 1970 in a peaceful Ukrainian village Malushka, in Rivne region. He was a fifth of ten children of his large Christian family. His parents were deeply religious people and raised their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. From childhood, Peter loved prayer services, which at that time were held in homes of believers. At the age of seven he received a spiritual baptism of the Holy Spirit. From young age, Petr was accustomed to a church, and was actively involved in her life.
In 1987 he graduated from high school and next year he was drafted into the Soviet Army, where he had a real hands-on training to become a warrior of Christ.
The early 90ies was the beginning of a spiritual awakening in the former Soviet Union. After graduating the missionary school in 1992, Petr was ordained as a minister and evangelist. Together with a group of young people, Petr left for a missionary work in the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, which became his home for the next 10 years.
In 1999 the Lord blessed Petr with a wonderful helpmate Zoya, and they got married. After graduating Moscow Theological Institute in 2001, Yevchiks’ family felt that the Lord was leading them to migrate to USA. In 2002 Peter, his wife Zoya, and one-year old son Philip moved to Rochester, New York. Upon arrival in the U.S. with the blessing of local church brothers became actively involved in the life of the Church, and was soon elected as the youth pastor.
In the beginning of 2005, br. Yevchik became overseer of all the Russian youth in the state of New York. He participated in organizing youth conferences and camp. Also he was involved in International ministries.
In 2008 he graduated from the Lviv Theological Seminary.
In 2009 he was Director of the Interchurch Bible School, which was held on the basis of the Rochester Russian Church. In the same year, Petr felt that God called him to begin a new ministry. He had a choice – Russia, Ukraine or the USA.
In early 2010, Petr received specific revelation to move to Charlotte, North Carolina, and start a new ministry. And as of today, Pastor Yevchik leads a Russian church “Good News” in Charlotte, NC. Correspondently he continues his studies at the Theological Seminary of Lviv and the Theological Institute of Moscow. He also has a wonderful family and raises three children – Phillip 10, Diana 7, and Timothy 4.

A “Declaration of Faith” is a set of core biblical beliefs that form the doctrinal foundation for everything we do – both as a denomination and as a church.
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
We believe holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
We believe in speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
We believe in water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
We believe divine healing is provided for all in the Atonement.
We believe in the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
We believe in the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
